The Advanced Façade Consultant Diploma is a comprehensive six-month structured learning programme developed to provide construction professionals with advanced technical expertise in the design, assessment, inspection, remediation and management of building façades. This diploma has been designed for professionals seeking to progress into senior technical, consultancy and leadership roles within the façade and building envelope sector. It provides an in-depth understanding of façade systems, materials, performance, compliance and risk management, enabling delegates to provide expert advice throughout the lifecycle of both new-build and existing buildings.
The programme examines the full range of façade systems used across the UK construction industry, including rainscreen cladding, curtain walling, masonry façades, brick-slip systems, insulated render systems, precast concrete panels, glazed façades, timber cladding, natural stone, metal composite systems and hybrid building envelope solutions. Delegates will gain a detailed understanding of how these systems are designed, specified, installed, inspected, maintained and remediated.

Fire performance is explored in depth, covering external fire spread, façade fire behaviour, reaction to fire, cavity barriers, fire stopping interfaces, façade remediation strategies, material classifications, testing standards and lessons learned from major façade failures. Delegates will develop the knowledge required to assess façade systems from both a fire safety and compliance perspective.
The diploma also covers structural behaviour, wind loading, thermal movement, moisture penetration, condensation control, thermal bridging, airtightness, acoustics, weather resistance, durability and long-term asset performance. Delegates will learn how environmental conditions, design decisions and workmanship influence the performance and longevity of external wall systems.
Practical inspection and consultancy skills form a core part of the programme.
