Course overview

About this course

The Building Safety Act 2022 represents the most significant reform of building safety legislation in England for over 40 years. Introduced following the recommendations arising from the Grenfell Tower Inquiry and Dame Judith Hackitt's Independent Review of Building Regulations and Fire Safety, the Act has fundamentally changed the way buildings are designed, constructed, managed and maintained.

This comprehensive one-day course has been developed by the ACQP Training Centre to provide construction professionals with a practical understanding of the Building Safety Act and the responsibilities placed upon organisations and individuals working within the built environment.

Rather than simply explaining the legislation, the course focuses on how the Building Safety Act affects day-to-day construction activities, project delivery, compliance, inspections, record keeping and professional accountability.

Delegates will gain an understanding of the new regulatory framework, the role of the Building Safety Regulator, dutyholder responsibilities, competency requirements, the Golden Thread of Information, Gateway processes and the practical implications for both new and existing buildings. The course reflects the core principles of the Act and associated secondary legislation
