Decarbonisation in Construction: From Strategy to Site Delivery

The construction industry is under increasing pressure to reduce carbon emissions throughout the complete life cycle of buildings and infrastructure. This practical one-day course introduces delegates to the principles of construction decarbonisation, covering operational carbon, embodied carbon, whole-life carbon assessment, low-carbon materials, procurement, site activities and project reporting.

Industry-led content Practical learning ACQP certification
Course overview

About this course

Delegates will learn how carbon can be designed out, reduced during procurement and construction, and monitored through to completion and occupation. The course will also examine the relationship between carbon reduction, construction quality, building performance and the prevention of the “performance gap”.

Content will reflect current industry guidance, including Approved Document L, the RICS Whole Life Carbon Assessment standard and PAS 2080:2023. Approved Document L now focuses expressly on energy and greenhouse-gas performance, while PAS 2080:2023 provides a whole-life framework for managing carbon across buildings and infrastructure.
